SAP BW Modeling & Analysis

The task of this project was to create and and implement a data model in the BW/4HANA 2.0 for a result that can efficiently represent the sales/cost analytics for an international company.

From an Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD), this project explored the transition into Star Schemas, and the creation of a data flow — consisting of data sources, transformation, and data transfer process — from multiple source systems into the data warehouse and into the information access through BI clients.

The data warehouse was built in the SAP BW4/HANA 2.0 system, and the interface used for BW is Eclipse. Eclipse IDE was deemed most efficient for this project as it is the most widely used Java IDE1 that supports several plug-ins for working with SAP tools such as BW Modeling Tools (BWMT). Data Analytics was done by various tools like Microsoft Excel with the SAP Add-on SAP BusinessObjects Analysis for Office which can be used for multidimensional analysis.
