Character Animation
This project explores the concept of mimesis by visually depicting the blurring of boundaries between reality and simulation. At its core, the narrative revolves around a protagonist seeking companionship and escaping their solitude by entering a virtual reality simulation in search of a potential girlfriend.
To bring this concept to life, I employed various tools and techniques. The initial step involved using a Lidar scanner to create a detailed model of my roommate, which was then imported into Blender for compositing. Subsequently, the model was further refined and prepared for animation in Cinema 4D, enabling it to perform a range of actions within a virtual environment. To capture the in-game footage, I utilized the popular game "Minecraft" as the backdrop.
To enhance the overall experience, soundtracks were meticulously collected using Audition, and special effects were added using After Effects. Finally, all the elements were seamlessly integrated using Premiere Pro, allowing for a cohesive and compelling visual narrative.
Through this project, the aim was to illustrate the protagonist's journey into the simulated world, blurring the lines between real and virtual. By combining techniques from 3D modeling, animation, game recording, sound design, and post-production software, a multi-dimensional and immersive narrative was created, highlighting the protagonist's interactions with the virtual characters and environment.
